March Holidays Engagement

Dear S1-08

As we spoke in class, there will not be any written assignments for this holiday (unless you still have assignments, i.e. Percentages [HW1][HW2][HW3] not submitted).

Several things to do during the holidays:

(1) Study Notes: Rato, Rate & Speed
We are halfway through/ almost completed the unit.
Attempt the remaining pages (sub-topics) so that we go straight into the discussions, checking of understanding & answers.
A good resource is your Maths Textbook 1B - Read the examples there.

There are a number of consolidation activities that were assigned in Term 1 Week 10.
Some of you have not attempted yet.
Please complete them by this Friday.

As briefed in class last Friday, in the Google Classroom
There's a set of exploration activity involving the use of spreadsheet.
Remember to attempt and submit them.

(2) Preparation for next topic, Algebra
Algebra will be covered quite extensively in Seconday 1 (all the way to Factorisation).
A good way to prepare yourself for this topic is to go through the Algebra modules in SLS (as mentioned in class).

The following modules are already assigned to you in the SLS.
Take sometime to go through... Algebra offers lots of possibilities and flexibiilty... which we will discover in Term 2.

We'll have a diagnostic activity (anytime) before we start this topic - to find out the extent of readiness/ pre-requisite you have before we embark on this topic.

(3) Class Tests

  • Class Test 1: Do corrections (if applicable) and file the test paper.
  • [Heads-up] Class Test 2:
    • Topics: Unit 1 (Topic 3) Estimation & Application, Unit 2 Percentages, Unit 3 Ratio, Rate and Speed, Unit 4 Algebra

(4) Maths File
You should get your Maths File ready for checking by the end of Term 2 Week 1.
A list of items to be included in the content page is already posted in the Google Classroom.
